Back in Business: Mum Edition

A programme designed for new or returning mothers (of under 5s) who are navigating the challenges of work and motherhood.  A space for mothers to share their experience and challenges, learn from each other and come away with tools and solutions that contribute to a more positive working life.

  • 98% of Mothers want to go back to work after having children

  • Yet only 13% think it’s viable on a full-time basis

  • Only 24% try to go back full time

  • Of which 79% ended up leaving (because they couldn’t maintain their full-time job alongside having a baby).

Did you know?

Your Coach Sunna's Story...

The idea for this programme came from my own experience. After having my daughter in 2022, I was so excited to return to work and have other things to think about than nappies, weaning and sleep schedules.

My manager, who also has two young children, was very understanding and handled my return empathetically and compassionately. Despite that, the challenges still arose a few months after I returned. I started to struggle with imposter syndrome, loss of confidence, self-advocacy and dealing with the mental load of raising a child and maintaining a job that I love. I put pressure on myself to perform as I did before maternity leave and got frustrated when that didn’t happen. I also struggled with the notion that my job was now lower down in my list of priorities, as I now had something that mattered more than anything.

That’s why this couse has been designed to help with the experience I myself had, of:

  • Loss of confidence

  • Imposter Syndrome

  • Self-advocacy

  • Self-awareness

  • Dealing with the mental load

  • Struggling after the initial excitement to return.

  • Talent retention & succession planning

  • Talent attraction

  • Career progression

  • Increase morale, productivity and motivation

Results when an EmployEE feels supported to return to work:

  • More likely to stay with the organisation
